Happy Friday my lovies. Are you gearing up to style your space for D’s HOLIDAY TABLE CHALLENGE? I hope so because we have a $500 shopping spree and holiday feature waiting just for you! I know the holidays can get hectic so we’re getting a jump on the season with a visit to holiday seasons past – pulling tabletop inspiration from designers, bloggers, shops and more. Now scroll on, get inspired and consider setting your table a bit early this year for a chance to win D’s challenge. Who knows… you just might win! Above – Tabletop design by Athena Calderone. BOHEMIAN CHIC – Artist/blogger Justina Blakeney proves you can make a stunning holiday table by pulling from what you have. The ‘tablecloth’ is composed of three freely-draped scarves, the table runner is a swath of leftover wallpaper and the china and cutlery are simple daily pieces. As for the adorable brass deer… those were an Ebay bargain. Photo by Jennifer Chong.
SUCCULENT RUNNERS – If there’s one trend in tablescaping these days, it’s organic runners – from pine garlands and swathes of magnolia leaves to the succulents shown above – keeping it low and lush makes for better (unobstructed) dinner conversation. MAN UP – Clean and graphic with a hint of cowboy – no shop combines dinnerware better than MONC XIII. The striped dish is from the Hemisphere Vinyl collection, the textured white plate from the Ecume line and the leather charger by Sol y Luna. Photo ©2013 Eric Striffler.
WOODLAND MAGIC – So romantical! While the rustic elegance of this tabletop may seem intimidating to recreate… a simple runner of ferns and lots of candles is all there is to it. Photo by Leo Patrone via Domaine.
LUSH ABANDON – Burst pomegranates, organic accoutrement, all set against a canvas of black – designer Athena Calderone of EyeSwoon, sets a holiday table to end all tables. Photo by Choloe Crespi via Harper’s Bazaar.
