Designer Constance Guisset has created these fabulous Francis mirrors for the Paris company Petite Friture. The mirror, which comes in two diameters (pocket at 3″ and wall at just under 24″), at first glance appears to be oxidizing (i.e. aging) in rainbow. In reality the designer created watercolor paintings, scanned them, printed them out on a transparent film and then slipped the film beneath the reflective surface of the mirror. The watercolor tints are arranged in such a way as to give the mirrors a sense of depth and convexity. What a clever way to play with the concept of aging and where better to do that than on a mirror?
