The brainchild of iconic Danish architect / designer Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971), the Tongue chair is a lost classic reborn. Originally designed for the Munkegård School in Denmark, Tongue, or AJ 3102, was created in 1955 just after Jacobsen’s first and more famously known Ant chair.

While Tongue was always one of the architect’s favorites, it never quite found a home or frankly the recognition it deserved – an unhappy fact that today is all changing thanks to the Denmark based company Howe’s belief in the value and beauty of this long forgotten little charmer. Shown below – The Tongue chair in situ at the Arne Jacobsen designed Munkegård School in Denmark.

And so this year, following some re-engineering to improve the chair’s durability and stability, the Tongue has been reissued in all of its original glory and then some.

Pretty adorable. What do you think?
