Inspired by London’s vibrant modern art scene, Executive Pastry Chef Mark Perkins has created five museum-worthy delectables as part of Rosewood London’s Art Afternoon Tea. Served alongside a selection of classic finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and loose leaf teas… each pastry distills the artistic language of one of five modern artists with work currently on display in London.

OPENING WITH…

an edgy chocolate/vanilla treat inspired by British street artist Banksy, and closing with a layered, rectangle-on-rectangle, raspberry, coconut cake ala Mark Rothko… Chef Mark Perkins rounds out his offerings with an exercise in chocolate limbed balance in the spirit of Alexander Calder’s mobiles, a calculated celebration of dots, echoing Damien Hirst’s Spot paintings, and a bold rendition of Yayoi Kusama’s trippy “All The Eternal Love I Have For Pumpkins” expressed in passion fruit, milk chocolate form.

A TREAT FOR…

all the senses, Art Afternoon Tea is currently served daily from noon to seven in London’s five star Rosewood hotel’s Mirror Room. For those who find themselves in the area… we highly recommend this small, but mighty, celebration of art and British tradition.
