For nearly 15 years, London based designer Ilse Crawford (of StudioIlse) has been making her mark as an interior and product designer, but before that, she had a much different role as the founder of what would become an international decorating bible – British Elle Decoration. When asked in a interview with T Magazine about her change in career from magazine creator to interior and product designer Ilse stated, “Whether you’re making something for 2- or 3-D… you’re still making something. It doesn’t feel any different.” Today Ilse’s approach to design delves much deeper than the visual… “I’m much more interested in the sensory thing, in thinking about it from the human context, the primal perspective, the thing that touches you.” – Ilse Crawford via.
