Founded in Shanghai by a group of young, innovative designers in 2002, Spin has infused new life into a millennial old craft by combining contemporary design elements like minimalism, asymmetry and nontraditional glaze patterns with the unparalleled skill of master ceramicists in Jingdezhen, China – the world’s historical epicenter of porcelain production. Having already established successful bases in Shanghai, Singapore, Changsha, and Beijing, Spin has recently made the leap west – opening shop in our very own SOHO New York. For those in the area, swing by the Spin shop at 13 Crosby Street, SOHO where you can view their signature Celadon White glaze – one of the distinctive achievements of Jingdezhen’s porcelain-making since the Sung Dynasty (960-1279).
