A Dark and Moody Parents' Retreat

Today we’re thrilled to share an interior from an Australian designer Dshop has had the pleasure of working with over the past couple of years. Under the shingle of her eponymous firm, Sally Caroline, Sally was presented with a brief from her jetsetting clients. The challenge was to transform their “parents’ retreat” into a luxury-hotel-like oasis. The ambiance was to be deep, moody, rich and textural, with only the tub and bedsheets in white. The firm’s solution shows that dark need not read as dingy and that, as Sally puts it, “deep hues can imbue spaces with a pervading sense of calm and stillness.” Enjoy the tour!
