Denmark based designer Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt has done it again with the introduction of her latest line of lighting. An unexpected combination of colored Plexiglas and brass – the fixtures explore the designer’s favored theme of combining precise, simple geometries in order to create new, complex, organic forms.

Settanta (shown above) is composed of 70 Plexiglas discs arranged around two light sources hanging from brass conduits. DICIOTTO x 4 (shown below) is composed of four individual light sources, each surrounded by its own cluster of Plexiglas discs. Each piece from the two new lines is unique and available in a variety of color combinations.

Both chandeliers are currently on show at Museumsbygningen with Gallery Superobject in Copenhagen, Denmark. Vibeke makes a similar series of chandeliers out of wood which is available through Norman Copenhagen. What do you think?!
