The design work of DISC Interiors founders Krista Schrock and David John Dick is rooted in an appreciation for imperfect beauty, a belief that less is more, and a knowledge that the very best interiors transcend period and style to age with grace over time. It’s an ethos that has born a portfolio that is equal parts sensitive and cerebral and garnered the firm editorial recognition around the globe. The duo’s multifaceted yet livable style shines especially bright in their recent redo of a Spanish Colonial Revival in Silver Lake, California. We hope you enjoy the tour!
SET IN…a 1920s era residence designed by notable female architect Frankie Faulkner, the overhaul was tailored to the needs of a young couple expecting their first child. |
THE CLIENT BRIEF…centered around a full redesign, including a reconfiguration of the kitchen and baths with a particular emphasis on using high quality, long lasting materials that will patina beautifully over time. |
INSPIRED BY…a weathered, minimal Mediterranean home on the coast, DISC infused their client’s new home with natural materials, muted colors, and nuanced textures. In the kitchen, simple white oak cabinets, limestone counters, and rustic Moroccan tile provide an earthy ambiance while a Lacanche range and sculptural Jos Devriendt pendants add a dose of design gravitas. |
IN THE…powder room, the designers went dramatic with a gorgeous white soapstone sink, while in the bedroom they cleaved to their signature mix of rustic and modern, vintage and custom, to create a uniquely harmonious family home that’s designed to last. |
