PARIS-BASED…

designer Jean Charles Tomas founded his eponymous firm just last year, and we could not be more impressed with his gorgeously distinctive aesthetic. Equal parts nuanced and bold, Tomas cites an exacting eye for detail and penchant for the handcrafted and bespoke. Shown here is his interior transformation of a 180 square meter Saint-Sulpice home in Paris – just a peek into his beautiful world…

BORN AND… raised in Nice, Tomas cut his design teeth while studying in Paris, before embarking upon an international career working as designer and project manager for architecture and design firms in New York, Monaco and Paris.

NOW BACK… in France, this striking talent continues to tap into the international roster of skilled artisans and craftspeople he cultivated while working abroad.

IN THE… kitchen, Tomas’ exacting eye for detail shines bright in the beautifully undercut counter tops – a feature not lost amongst the ultra clean lines, high contrast colors and bold materiallity found throughout the rest of the room. A graphic fixture by Arredoluce tops the space off with a dose of vintage perfection.

TOMAS IMBUED… the living room with a sense of understated luxury – combining loungey velvet sofas, earthy accessories, and mismatched books with the ultimate design accessory – a Lindsey Adelman chandelier.

EXPRESSING… a passion for heirloom woods and custom metalwork, this ultra minimal cabinet combines fine craftsmanship with a luxe sense of rusticity.

IN THE BATH… Tomas’ rich vocabulary in classical architecture appears to take a bow, with slated cabinets harkening back to fluting motifs.

THE SHOWER… celebrates maximal minimalism and the raw impact of striated stone in monolithic form.

A SMALL… glassed in office reveals a love for iconic 20th century pieces, ranging from Jean Prouvé’s 1934 Standard Chair and Pierre Jeanneret’s 1950s Easy Armchair to Vico Magistretti’s 1977 Atollo Lamp.

THE BEDROOM… sums up Jean Charles Tomas’ masculine, elegant aesthetic to a T – with its flawlessly edited pieces and high quality detailing. With a debut interior like this… Tomas is one design talent we’ll be watching without a blink. Wow!
