ANTWERP…
based architect Hans Verstuyft has shared a sneak peek at his latest work slated to debut this October at ICFF Miami. Entitled GRACE, its bold arched form is just as much a sculptural work of art as it is a functional outdoor shower…
IN DESIGNING…GRACE’s streamlined form Verstuyft first considered its function as a tool of wellness, sport, physicality and purveyor of essential water then; balanced these factors with a sensitivity for aesthetic form, materiality and soul. |
SET AGAINST…the landscape, the fixture strikes a strong graceful gesture with its seamless form rising up then arcing down in perfect geometry, only to be fully completed when water flows out and back to its source. The controls are designed to lie flush against the shower’s stem, and the gold brass finish is left unsealed to patina with nature and time. |
Handcrafted in Belgium, the end result is a fixture that is unapologetically elegant in its functionality or, as Verstuyft more aptly describes it, “extravagant in its minimalism.” Bravo Hans!
