PARIS-BASED…

Corpus Studio was recently commissioned by luxury fashion label Jitrois to design an ephemeral site- specific installation for Paris Fashion Week. The result was a suspended kinetic mobile and its transposed, floor-standing twin. Aptly entitled The Twins, the installation’s steel frames create a common ground while their mirrors reflect a more interactive experience.

THE EFFECT…

is a provocative exercise in asymmetric balance, as each mirror deconstructs and dialogs with the fashion label’s historic Napoleon III showroom. The sculpture’s delicate yet brutalist aesthetic pays homage to one of Jean-Claude Jitrois’ greatest inspirations – the work of Alexander Calder – while its mirroring of past-in-present aknowledges the brand’s focus on reflection and rebirth.
