Every once in a while it’s nice to rethink the standard and pave a new path, and that is just what the design talents behind Witteveen Architects have done with this fantastic reinterpretation of the standard tub. Set within an historic Amsterdam canal house, the property came complete with the high ceilings and traditional detailing you might expect but when it came to the bath, the architects opted for an all-in minimalist approach. To achieve their vision for a fully integrated walk-in bath, the flooring was reinforced to support the weight of the tub and the tub itself was clad in a HI-MACS solid surface – chosen for its seamless look, hygienic properties and non porous surface. The result is is a minimal meets maximal bathing oasis complete with its very own waterfall tap. Looks like a pretty nice spot for an evening float. What do you think?
