Made of bamboo bound with carbon fiber and resin, Diego’s bikes are 1/3 the weight of your average bike and eco friendly to boot. Bamboo, often referred to as “steel grass,” requires little energy to harvest, generates 30% more oxygen than trees, regenerates without replanting, requires no pesticides, and is resistant to both flood and drought. Combine this with the fact that bamboo is strong, flexible and beautiful… it is no wonder Cardenas views the bamboocycle as the bike of the future.
