Friday has finally arrived and today I’ve put together an easy breezy post filled with nine gems from D’s files. Enjoy!

Inspired by the shapes and colors of telephone pole insulator covers, Waterworks new Watt collection boasts two styles of large scale boron molded glass in shades of blue, amber and clear. The shades may be mounted in a pendant or sconce setting and range in price from $887 – $1, 135.

This Moroccan inspired tile backsplash from Urban Archaeology was featured in a recent House Beautiful feature on a Michigan home infused with notes of the ‘exotic’. Photo by Francesco Lagnese.

The modular Elysée Shelving System was designed by Pierre Paulin for Magis. I love the feather-like layers created by stacking the U shaped wood components.

Created by British designer Jasper Morrison for the Italian company Mattiazzi, the Fionda chair took its inspiration from camping furniture. This foldable and stackable cutie, composed of a wood base and slip on canvas seat, is made in both a dining chair and lounge chair version and also has an accompanying table. Table Lamp ($575) was designed as part of the RestartMilano project, led by Italian designer Maurizio Navone. When asked about the project, Maurizio described it this way, “This is not a quest for new forms, which certainly are not lacking on the design scene. It is actually a means of studying and reactivating things and situations which have left an indelible trace in the memory.” Table Lamp, along with its two sibling wall versions, are available through Merchant No. 4.

Designed by Lucie Koldova for Czech based crystal and glass lighting company, Lasvit, Bondage is an unexpected combination of metal, leather and glass.

Hot off the presses from our friends Claesson Koivisto Rune, is a series of metal framed, tile topped tables. The line was a bit of a happy accident, in that the tables were initially designed as props for an exhibit of CKR’s hand made Moroccan floor tiles in 2012. However, the tables turned out so charming, that they are now produced by Berga. For our UK friends, I spotted them on sale at twentytwentyone.

Designed just after WWII, the Case Study Ceramic Bowls With Metal Tri-Stand ($550 – $695) has that unmistakable mid century look we all know and love so well. The tripod planter is available in two sizes. The ceramic bowls can also stand alone and/or be placed on an accompanying wooden plinth. You can view the full collection and all its possibilities at Modernica.

Mandala Collection No.1, by the South African company Willow Lamp, is a massive sculptural chandelier inspired by Islamic patterns which have been extruded into a three dimensional object via ball chains of varying lengths and colors. The fixture is illuminated by a combination of surface mounted and suspended G4 Halogen lamps. How spectacular! On this note I’ll wrap up D’s week of posts. Wishing you all an equally spectacular weekend.
