Charles X’s fab new single “Can You Do It” has finally arrived and along with it, an equally awesome video. Set on the streets of Charles’ native Los Angeles, the vibey 2d/3d animation is intended to challenge the preconceived notions of social class and race that permeate the modern-day mindset. To do this, director Quentin Baillieux created tension through the study of seeming opposites – equestrian culture and urban car racing. “I sought to merge the typically highbrow sport of horse racing with the commonly misrepresented “mean streets” of Pacoima…” The result is a thought provoking and visually stunning world that reveals itself along the asphalt-paved path of the horses and their jockeys. Enjoy!
