Tord Boontje Emma Woffenden Chandelier

Designer Tord Boontje and sculptor Emma Woffenden have done it again – morphing discarded glass bottles into museum-worthy works of art. Their most recent triumph comes in the form of a striking, pine cone-inspired chandelier which builds upon the pair’s 1997 exploration in transforming recycled bottles into tableware treasures. The new fixture, which is available in both clear and green glass, is currently being produced by Artecnica in a limited edition run of 15 each. Boontje and Woffenden’s earlier 1997 collection, entitled tranSglass, is also available through Artecnica and is produced by young artisans in a glass workshop in Guatemala City.
