DSHOP Welcomes Some Seriously Colorful Lighting

Today we are taking a break from our regularly scheduled programming to share two lovable new additions to DSHOP. First up – the THIN Lamp designed by Peter Bristol in collaboration with Juniper. This incredibly flexible and streamlined fixture utilizes the latest in LED technology to create a lamp capable of extending in excess of three feet and then folding in on itself to virtually nothing. Complete with a brilliantly integrated dimmer switch at its tip, the THIN blends a sleek contemporary form with the timeless materials of solid brass and cast iron to create a lamp of unique durability and presence. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Next up is the M Lamp by UK based designer David Irwin. Inspired by 19th century miner lamps, these rechargeable, portable, adjustable and dimable lookers combine the best of modern day technology with old world design. They’re also pretty perfect for toting around the house and for the months of outdoor living that lie ahead.

LED is good for signage, nothing else.

Hi Guillaume. There was a time where this was likely true but LED lighting has evolved dramatically and is now used to great effect in a multitude of applications. Also, for the LED skittish… keep in mind that this is a task light and not a fixture that will light your entire room. I’m glad you brought this up though! I’ll try to bring in a specialist and do a post on the topic in the near future.
