Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and these aubergine-tinted gems by SILIA have us feeling the love. Founded in 2011, the young Italian lighting and accessories brand operates under the creative direction of Ilaria Balduino Sartori. His goal – “to express the extraordinary material know as lucite, plexiglass, perspex, in all its varied and unexpected forms.” The recently released Degradé Collection, shown here, was inspired by the form of emerald cut diamonds which, in order to achieve the perfect play of light upon surface, are sculpted using precision instruments guided by expert hands. Once fully sculpted and polished, each piece is then painstakingly hand-dipped in die to varying degrees of color saturation. Gorgeous!
