Since 2011, interior designers Chad Falkenberg and Kelly Reynolds of the Vancouver based firm Falken Reynolds have been decking the halls of their neighbors’ shops for free (save the cost of materials, that is). This year the designing duo brought their concepts to life with the help of 40 neighborhood volunteers, consisting of fellow designers, design students and a handful of people who simply love to decorate.
For those in the Vancouver and specifically the Gastown neighborhood, you can take a stroll and check out Falken Reynolds’ holiday handiwork in person. The shining star of this year’s designs, in my humble opinion, is the birch bark and copper wreath made in collaboration with Matthew Maté Lighting. So chic, so sophisticated, so cool! For those of you who would like to make this little beauty your own… swing by FalkenReynolds.com/contest/ and vote on your favorite 2013 holiday installation. For those of you who don’t win… this could make for one awesome DIY project. Good luck!
