THE ARCHITECTS…
at LAD (Laboratorio di Architettura e Design) have recently completed a gem of a pool located in an Italian garden at the base of Tarquina’s old city walls. The designer describes the oasis as “a machine for observing the landscape” where the pool’s two stone walls direct the eye and frame out a single point of view. The shape and proportions of the pool were informed by old local fountains and the overall effect is a beautiful juxtaposition between organic and man made, country and city.
