IN THE RIVERSIDE…
neighborhood of Greenwich, Connecticut stands this contemporary home designed by Studio DB, a Manhattan-based architecture and interior design firm run by Damian and Britt Zunino. Pairing a sophisticated tone with a distinct attention to detail, the residence is an encyclopedia of playful details that lend a modern touch to an architecturally classic home.
PAST A…
deep blue space lies the home’s sun-drenched living room, where a wry fiddle leaf fig casts a natural figure between a white Vladimir Kagan Sofa and a pair of Mid-Century Club chairs designed by Marco Zanuso. Suspended above the nearby fireplace is Ben & Aja Blanc’s Apollo Mirror, a piece that pairs geometric precision with the naturalistic texture of handspun silk fiber.
ADDING AN AIR…
of whimsy to the dining room is Apparatus’ Cloud Chandelier, which features hand frosted glass orbs to create a unique, diffused lighting effect. A room over, meanwhile, the kitchen is defined by a sophisticated blend of grey toned cabinetry and white marble backsplash that act as the ideal backdrop to a warm brass faucet and handles.
A HANGING…
mobile light fixture by David Weeks Studio gives the home’s stairwell a modern touch. Much as in the kitchen, the mobile’s brass features add a warmth to the subdued gray interior.
DRAMATIC…
marble surfaces, splashes of illustrated wallpaper, and striking patterned tile flooring give the home a graphic texture throughout. Combining a sophisticated architectural design with a smorgasbord of playful design elements, Studio DB’s take on this Riverside home is an effortless blend of the sophisticated with whimsically modern.
