Meet my latest obsession – the glorious Hallingdal Table by the London based design firm Fredrikson Stallard. At 1100 mm in diameter and 320 mm high (approximately 43 inches in diameter and 12.5 inches high), this beauty is made almost entirely of a coiled strip of soft wool fabric. By rolling the material with sufficient force, its pliable nature is transformed into a solid structure. The resultant coil is then bound using an industrial ratchet strap fitted with a contrasting 24 karat gold plated buckle and placed upon golden legs – both of which serve to elevate the piece beyond it’s simple utilitarian construction. Love!
