Introducing The Wing Chair By Flitch Studio

Mid century lovers with a taste for whimsy have I got a chair for you. The Wing Chair by Flitch Studio is the brainchild of Colorado based designer Jason McCloskey.

While at first glance this molded plywood seat may all but shout mid century, the designer cites a love for the great outdoors, wild rivers, slot canyons and an appreciation for English period furniture as his driving sources of inspiration.

With over 20 years of design / build experience under his belt – which incorporate fine wood working skills and a recent masters degree from The Rhode Island School of Design – McCloskey keeps his focus on meticulous craftsmanship every step of the way. The Wing chair is made from walnut, poplar and rubber and measures 51″ x 45″ x 25″. To view more of Jason McCloskey’s work, which ranges from elaborate Queen Anne style bureaus to custom designed wood skis, click through to FlitchStudios.com.

Very happy to see the Wing Chair. The first design I have seen that reminds me of my Love Seat that I designed in the early 70’s. See

I like that you show how one uses the chair, both side saddle and straddle. Here is a photo my chair showing side saddle.
