Formally trained in silversmithing, goldsmithing and general metal work, UK based designer Jacqueline Scholes is utilizing traditional crafting techniques to create thoroughly contemporary and functional objets d’art. Holding a masters degree in her area of specialty, Scholes cites a simultaneous fascination with natural forms and industrial mechanisms as her primary sources of inspiration. The result is a highly geometric collection of metallic art/tableware that incorporates repeated forms and occasionally contrasting materials such as rosewood and oak. Shown here is a small selection from her gorgeous portfolio.
