Several years ago Heatherwick studio was invited by by chef Oliver Rowe to create a unique space for his restaurant, Konstam at the Prince Albert. While, sadly, this magical spot has since closed, its spectacular design will live on in our hearts…
“The frame of each of the fifty-seven window panes is fringed with hundreds of fine metal chains, drawn up into draped bundles which are slung over hooks in the ceiling before flaring downwards to form shading around a light source above every table, at the same time providing screening from the busy road. The light fittings are made using a total of 110 kilometers of stainless steel and nickel plated chain with cast acrylic frames. The surrounding interior is unified with a single colour used on all surfaces.” – Heatherwick Studio. Increadible!
