Hammock season is fast approaching and so what better time to share this little lovely from D’s inbox. The brainchild of architect Anthony Logothetis La Seóra Hammock was inspired by Miami’s cultural melting pot of American and Latin cultures.

A hybrid between hammock and deck lounger, this flexible wood slatted sling provides superior ergonomic support to its traditional slouch-inducing cousin and is apparently quite comfortable with its adjustable foot rest and retractable armrests.

Already the winner of awards in London, Milan and most recently the 2012 Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award – La Seóra weighs in at just 55 lbs (25 kg) and may be assembled and disassembled (into three simple pieces) sans tools.

Available in a light “Classic” wood, or a darker “Alpine” wood, La Seóra is currently available for purchase online, as well as through a growing number of shop locations in Hong Kong and Europe. Visit the Seóra site for shopping and additional details.
