MARISOL: Umbrellas With a Social Mission

Scroll To View

Handcrafted right here in New York, the Brooklyn based company, Joyaux Marisol, produces limited edition African wax print parasols and umbrellas designed not only to protect from the sun, wind, and rain but also from the ravages of violence against women. The company donates 20% of the net profits from each sale to women survivors of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The proceeds are channeled to V-Day’s City of Joy – where a series of locally run healthcare, psychological care, and educational programs serve some 90 survivors of sexual abuse ranging in age from 14- 40.

Each of Marisol’s ultra durable umbrellas comes with a signature Lucite handle and a lifetime limited warranty. Prices begin at $395. View the current collection or customize your own unique parasol or umbrella at marisols.org.
