ATOP A HILLSIDE…
in Puy-Sainte-Réparade in Southern France sits Maison P, a contemporary residence overlooking the verdant, rolling hills of the scenic French countryside. Designed by award-winning architectural firm PietriArchitectes, the single story home is composed of multiple units of conceptually structured empty spaces.
EMPHASIZING…
indoor-outdoor living, the residence features wall-sized glass doors that open up the interior living space. The home’s deck and swimming pool offer the ideal vantage point to enjoy the rolling landscape that surrounds the residence and defines the region.
ARCHITECTURALLY…
the residence is divided into two units by a canal of eye-catching plantings that produces a unique geometric perspective when frontally viewed. This illusion of division is maintained by a transparent glass walkway that simultaneously suggests a separation between the two units, while also connecting them.
BETWEEN…
the row of foliage and a cobblestone walkway lies a serene pond, concealed between the residence’s two units. Here, the intersecting lines of the living spaces, walkways and landscaping converge around a quiet and distinct enclave that mirrors the home’s preoccupation with space, nature and indoor-outdoor living.
