born, New York based designer Timothy Godbold has brought his passion for natural materials and clean-lined style to a cozy townhouse in San Francisco’s iconic Russian Hill neighborhood. Serving as home to two active gentlemen and their puppy, the brief for the new interior focused on creating a relaxed yet sophisticated environment ideal for entertaining.

focus on the main living spaces, Godbold pulled color inspiration from a pair of Chinese dragon print pillows in orange, brown, green, and burnt sienna hues. This earthy palette is echoed in a pair of cubist paintings that inform a similarly cubic selection of seating – with each piece carefully arranged to encourage gathering and conversation.
WHILE…
exercising restraint in form and flourish, Godbold went luxe on texture with a mix of buttery leather upholstery, velvet chaise lounges, chunky fiber rugs, and a soft nubby sectional. A selection of elemental stone and ceramic accents ground the rooms while a 1930s Alvar Aalto Screen, 1940s Greta Grossman Grasshopper Lamp, and 1960s Charlotte Perriand Stool punctuate this poshly situated home with just the right dose of design gravitas.
