White Custom Kitchen

Mila Yudina…

has more than a few feathers in her cap. . Trained in fashion design in both Canada and the UK, she quickly established herself in this competitive industry, earning accolades such as Best New Canadian Designer at the 2004 Fashion Incubators New Labels awards in Toronto, where she is now based.

With an innate love for the handmade and a commitment to tailoring each creation to the individual, Yudina also crafts fine jewelry from gold and diamonds and continues to consult as a fashion stylist, supporting an elite roster of celebrity clients across Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Miami, and Toronto.

But all of these are mere side pursuits. For the past 12 years, Yudina has focused on interior design, building a successful practice that specializes in “full-gut” renovations and bespoke furnishings for both residential and commercial properties, with details created in collaboration with boutique builders and skilled artisans. Among her and her team of four’s current projects is a luxury furniture line with Canadian manufacturer Ficari and an elegant tile collection with Italian firm Stilarte.

Luxury Modern Hardware

One of…

Yudina’s most noteworthy projects is this 2,000 sq ft home in Toronto. Completed in early 2025, it underwent a full overhaul, stripped down to its structural skeleton and reimagined with a relaxed, comfortable aesthetic—perfect for a weekend retreat, as outlined in the design brief.

Upon entry…

Yudina guides the eye through an environment filled with curves that expand perspectives and create a fluid spatial flow, gently meandering through the open-plan layout. Plaster finishes soften the boundaries between walls and ceilings, while the pale wood chevron floor introduces a subtle zigzag rhythm—an angular counterpoint that highlights the room’s soft, sweeping forms and subtly directs movement with quiet intent.

The interiors’ blend of linearity and curves is reflected in the selection of GEO hardware cabinet pulls and handles from Dshop. Drawing on the visual language of Miami Modernism (MiMo), these sculptural accents strike a balance between minimalist and playful, industrial and polished, adding both punctuation and sparkle to the bespoke whitewashed oak cabinetry. The other standout feature of the kitchen is the dramatic Calacatta Viola porcelain countertops and details, which Yudina notes were, in part, “installed in hundreds of strips to form the curved island, arch, and entry.”

Mila Yudina Living Room

Just as couturiers…

add sequins, beads, ribbons, and embroidery to their bespoke creations to bring them to life, Yudina introduces dramatic sculptural furnishings to complete her tactile interior vision. These include an asymmetrical Dune coffee table by Italian makers Mogg, a futuristic Marmont Accent armchair by Pittsburgh native Leanne Ford for Crate & Barrel, and an iconic Akari E ceiling light by Isamu Noguchi for Vitra.

Organic Interior Design

A steadfast…

believer in the sensorial and emotive power of design, Yudina has infused the interior with Baroque-inspired flourishes that imbue the apartment with grandeur and warmth. These elements set the space apart from the cool edginess of pared-back minimalism, creating a more homey, lived-in atmosphere. Notable features include a large mirror with a sweeping, wavy frame and a curved fireplace carved like a slot or window, seamlessly embedded into a flowing partition wall. Wide, fluted columns in the living room and a custom fluted spherical hood fan in the kitchen play with light and shadow, adding depth and dimension through layered textures and tactility.

The main…

bedroom continues the theme of enveloping soft curves, cultivating a serene atmosphere that feels both effortless and refined. Slimline, custom-made storage units rise like columns, forming an arch that sweeps over the bed. This flowing motif is echoed in the rippling drapery of the headboard and the ethereal, floor-to-ceiling curtains—crafted from fine pale linen. All together, it’s design details like these that coalesce to create a Toronto retreat that is not only thoughtfully designed but also truly dreamlike.
