Studiopepe for Spotti Milano

Located on the fringes of Milan’s central shopping district, Spotti Milano has created a name for itself as a careful curator of both contemporary and re-issued design classics. The company, which was founded by brothers Claudio and Mauro Spotti in 1986, has taken a counter culture approach from the start – opting to represent a variety of design brands in a city dominated by single-brand leviathans. Nearly 30 years on, Spotti’s bold choice has worked in its favor, distinguishing them as a unique go-to-source and setting the stage for later defining decisions…

In 2009, building upon the company ethos of distinction, Spotti approached Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto of Studiopepe – seeking them out specifically for their ‘unconventionally Milanese approach to interiors.’ Last July, Claudio Spotti explained in an interview with Wallpaper magazine, “We knew that they could make a difference, especially in a city where design is everywhere but it’s often presented in a stiff way.”

Six years later, the dynamic women behind Studiopepe have not disappointed as they swoop in for seasonal  takeovers, enjoying near total creative control over the Spotti showroom design, window displays and product installations. This, their most recent redesign for the brand, is perhaps their most interesting to date – marked by a velvety mix of soft muted tones, luxurious materials, and of course punctuated by some of Spotti’s very best offerings, including pieces by Serge Mouille, Gio Ponti, Carl Hansen, and Antonio Citterio. What do you think?
