FOUNDED…

in 2016 in St. Petersburg, Russia, Supaform is a small design studio focused on the art of product and spatial design. Homing in on the space between disciplines, founder Maxim Scherbakov combines sculpture, painting, design and architecture to create forward-thinking interiors and objects that live within them. TAKING…

inspiration from its namesake, Maxim explains, “The Yalta chair is an ironic paraphrase for the luxurious resorts of the Soviet Union,” where Soviet citizens once flocked to the Yalta coast to rest and recoup in sanatoriums. Today, Yalta has fallen on harder times as the fall of the Soviet Union changed financial situations and lifted restrictions on travel beyond its borders.
