680 square foot apartment, located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, celebrates the beauty of well thought out craftsmanship with a mind for efficiency.
BEGINNING…
in the kitchen, the design team at Workstead tapped into their talent for custom crafted millwork – designing an elegantly tiered system of cabinetry that eliminates the need for hardware.
THE RED…
toned oak cabinets are balanced by pale green stone counters, extending seamlessly into the main living space, and doubling as a desk.
IN THE…
main living area, the designers brought in an adjustable vintage elevator table to create a multi use space – one part cozy dining room, the other part, lounge.
THE CLEAN…
and simple material palette carries through to the bedroom with more oak built-ins, complemented by a flush wall of highly functional storage space. Painted the same off white of the walls, the system of doors and drawers are marked by a carefully choreographed system of rectangular routed pulls. The end result is an intelligently designed apartment imbued with an airy feel, that belies its actual footprint.
