A St. Moritz Ski Apartment by Gilles & Boissier

The husband and wife team behind the French design firm Gilles & Boissier describe their process as an exercise in contrast. Where Patrick Gilles brings a passion for clean-lined symmetry, wife, Dorothée, counters with a focus on the emotional, fluid and tactile. This alchemy of opposites has established the pair as ground breakers in their field and a client list that includes the likes of the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental hotels, and the luxury ski brand Moncler.

On a smaller, more local scale, in 2005 Gilles & Boissier collaborated with Moncler’s president and artistic director Remo Ruffini in the design of his St. Moritz apartment. The completed space, like its creators, finds success in a harmonious melding of opposites, with sleek furnishings, luxe leathers and gleaming chrome playing off earthy wood paneling, furs and of course, the obligatory horns and antlers.
